Lessing’s Receives
First Corporate Hero
Award
Lessing’s, Inc.
received the first
ever Corporate Hero
Award at the 6th
Annual Sisters of
Charity Luncheon
held at the
Milleridge Inn.
Present to receiver
the award were Larry
Lessing, Jack
Lessing, and Mark
Lessing.
The recipients of
the Corporate Hero
Award must embody
the qualities of the
Sisters of Charity;
commitment to
service, pioneering,
independent spirit,
simplicity,
perseverance and
spirituality. They
must also contribute
to the betterment of
society in the New
York area and
exemplify a spirit
consonant with their
values support the
work and mission of
the Sisters.
The Lessings have
always been strong
supporters of the
ministry. Through
fundraising and
donations, as well
as aid to The Islip
Children’s
Foundation, Hospice
of the South Shore,
Good Samaritan
Hospital Medical
Center, and Nassau
Suffolk Hospital
Council, Lessing’s,
Inc. has created
their reputation for
exceptional service
to the community.
The Luncheon was
attended by some 350
guests, making this
event their largest
yet. Approximately
$85,000 was raised
for the Sisters of
Charity, their
ministry, healthcare
and retirement
needs.
