To Have a Drink or Not to Have a Drink

1) Where are you and your fiancé from?

2) What type of liquor do you and your fiancé enjoy?

3) What are your nationalities?

4) What time of year is the wedding, the season will also be a large influence!

5) What is the current Hot drink? (try not to follow, come up with something creative)

6) Try to compromise and come up with something that will match both your personalities.

These are just a few things for you to consider when you are choosing a signature drink. For example, I am from Long Island and so is my wife, we got married in the winter and our drink was a Hot Totty which is Jamaican Rum with warm fresh Apple cider. It was great for people who were coming to the reception from far and they were cold, it warmed them right up. Another example I read about was a couple from the south who were married in the spring and felt it was important to have a bourbon cocktail of some sort since it is the liquor of choice in the south.

As most of us are Long Islanders, the obvious choice is a Long Island Iced Tea. It is up to you to do your research online and see what is available. You may already have a cocktail that has meaning to the two of you and that will make the decision easier. Whatever you do, make it fun and tasty so the guests will remember it!
