Drink of the Month

"The Lucky Ladi"

You'll Need:

1 oz. Finlandia Tangerine
3 oz. Midori Melon
Splash triple sec
Splash sour mix
Lemon wedge
Orange sugar (add orange food coloring to sugar)

Method:

Chill a martini glass. Fill a shaker with ice and add Finlandia, Midori, triple sec and a splash of sour mix.

Using a lemon wedge rim the martini glass with lemon then dip in orange sugar. Pour the contents of shaker into martini glass.

Recipe of the Month

Mirabelle Caramelized Nuts

You'll Need:

½ cup honey
1 ½ cup sugar
1 ½ cup water
3 cups blanched hazelnuts
3 cups blanched whole almonds
3 cups roasted cashews
3 cups pecans
2 cups pistachio nuts
Salt
Cayenne pepper

Method:

In a medium pot add honey, sugar, and water. Bring to a boil, lower the heat and cook for about 8 minutes.

In a large bowl mix the totality of the nuts, and pour over the hot syrup. With a rubber spatula, combine the nuts and syrup very well. Transfer the nuts to a large sieve, and drain the excess syrup.

Transfer the nuts on a baking sheet tray lined up with greased aluminum foil. Make sure that the nuts are well spread on the tray, and bake them in a F.325 oven. With a spatula, mix the nuts from time to time, and cook until uniformly golden.

Season the nuts with kosher salt, and a modest amount of cayenne pepper. Mix well, cool down, and put the mixed caramelized nuts in jars.
